5000 Thank Yous

I simply love to share the culture of two wheel travel. And I am grateful for the people who have decided to ride along and be part of this growing community. I continue to be touched by the shower of emoticons that follow the posts, little colorful darling pixelations. But when I think about how far we have come in a few short months, I am touched most indelibly by the people who have taken the time to share their stories since riding along.

Some have ridden more. Some have ridden longer. Some have trekked up into the woods with spotty gps and taken on the navigation of new lands with the bravery of Shackleton. There is a family riding along on an afternoon, off-road, birthday celebration and thousands gathered for a midnight marathon ride. And there is a dear person who lives in one of the great boroughs of New York, whom I have known for ages, and never known to ride. She has explored the wonders of her city from a new vantage point in the saddle of a CitibikNYC and has found herself lost in new neighborhoods and coasting through bike lanes that have trash trucks and couriers weaving in and out. She has been witness to the beauty of New York in the early morning hours before the heartbeat of the city starts to thunder in its vehicular traffic. There are people riding along who are not yet able to get their bike to the shop for a tune up or not yet able to purchase a bike. I get it and appreciate it. I send you all thousands of little colorful darling pixelations.

You all inspire me. You inspire me with your comments, your shares, your stories, your invites to lands far and near. You have given me a great gift by sharing your culture of two-wheel travel. And a heartfelt thanks for riding along.
